My dad gave me a banjo when I was in high school. I never learned to play terribly well, but as a result of receiving that banjo, I fell in love with banjo music. That's how I came across John Hartford. His music accompanied me through high school, college, marriage, jobs, children. For over 25 years, I've loved his music and his humor. I'm heartbroken that he's gone.
