First met John in the late 60's, I was 9 years old. He actually picked with me at the Kentucky State fair and I thought I was in heaven. He had always been a friend that would talk with you. Had opportunity to pick with him in the mid 80's down in Texas and again in the 90's out in Nevada. He has been a part of my life for nearly 30 years and will continue to be. His music will influence me for the rest of my life and for many generations to come. I will think of him every time I look to the sky. I will miss you pilot. Fly on!!!!
