Sorry, but the address I earlier gave, "Things John Would Like.." won't open. I hope this one does. There are lots of boats and a pic of John and I sitting in the audience at the Charleston, WV Sternwheel Regatta in 1977 as a group "warmed-up" the crowd before he came on. The two memories that most are vivid about that time were: (1) He got me to like eating snails when we had dinner together, and (2)When he got on stage, he "blew" whistle salutes for me on his fiddle. I guess only he and I knew what he was doing, and he shot me a sly glance as he blew a long and two shorts- the traditional greeting used by boats on the river as a way of saying "hello".
