i.ve been a big fan of john's since i was a kid and watching him play with glen campbell on his tv show..later, my brother had a copy of aereo plain and i wore it out...had it on tape for years and it finally died and my album was a scratchy old mess and it was a while before i realized it might be out on disc...sure enough, this last april my wife gave it to me for my 43rd birthday..i was pumped as i immediately recorded it onto tape so i could hear it in my truck..subsequently i've recorded it a whole buncha times as i keep giving friends my tapes, sent some to pennnslylvania and new york to friends who never heard of him...they loved it and were searching for more cd's to buy..i refer to that album as the 'layla' of wooden music...it has rarely left my tape deck in the truck and the cd never gets stuck in the cabinet..saw him once in the 70's ata afree show with vassar and a few times more solo...always hilarious and kind...not to mention a mind blowing musician...made me literally sick to my stomach to hear of his death..on a neil young board no less..am arranging a trade for a bootleg of his from the 70's..not into heaven and hell but if i'm wrong i know where john'll be..teachin' lowell george how to play the fiddle if he'll reciprocate with some slide guitar lessons...ok
