I never got to see John Hartford perform. I've been collecting his stuff for years, and he inspired me to play the 5string. I got his instructional video, because I wanted to play lie him. At he end of the tape he encouraged me (and verybody else who watched the tape, but it felt like he was talking to me alone) to find him at a show because he'd like to hear me pick a little. He meant it too. God! I love that guy!
