I believe the reason for many of the posthumous inductions was due to the fact that the Country Music Hall of Fame was not established until the early 60's -- after many deserving contributors had already died. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong here. I think the first inductees were in 1961 and they included Hank Williams and Jimmy Rodgers.
I'm sure his name will be installed in time in the Country Music Hall of Fame, but I say again, it is beyond me why he was not so honored while he was still alive (especially with his health predicament) as so many others *have been* -- namely Roy Acuff, Kitty Wells, Eddy Arnold, and the list goes on.
