In Homespun Tapes video "The Banjo according to John Hartford" there are tablatures of most of the songs he plays on that video. I recommend the video (2 tapes) if you want to capture John's style.
Also In the book "Masters of the five string banjo" by Tony Trischka and Pete Wernick, there are tabs for "Gum Tree canoe" and Jug Harris" I challenge any banjo player to play as smooth an as FAST as John does with "Jug Harris" (On the Gum Tree canoe album.
