I met John in the early 70's while touring and playing bass guitar with Barbara Mandrell. We became friends but never really spent much time together until the 80's & 90's when i would stop by and visit. John was always so gracious to welcome me in and we would sit at the little kitchen table by the window overlooking the Cumberland river and play a few songs and talk of
the good things in life. John Hartford was truly a gentle & gracious spirited man who I'm sure left many fond memories with people like me all over the world as well as some wonderful songs that will live in our hearts forever. Rest in Peace John, We'll do it again on the other side. Donnie Clark
