After the last few weeks of reading all these entries and feeling very sad about John and his family, I thought I would share my "John Hartford moment".
I was working at a retail chain store when in comes John to purchase some blank cassette tapes and batteries. I helped him and was at the checkout counter when I realized who he was (I was not expecting John Hartford I assure you), when I said "I can't believe your standing in front of me" He replied "I can't believe you know who I am." We talked for about twenty minutes as if we were old pals. John had a way of making you feel like an old friend, I will miss him. I would like to extend my condolences to his family. It was nice to see so many entries in this section, it showes that he touched everyone he met in a special way. Goodby John...
