For those familiar with John’s love of 3×5 cards, this one is for you. The typed notes were saved for us by our dear friend, the late Dr. Terry Comer. Our understanding is that this is a handout from a keynote speech that John gave for the International Bluegrass Music Association. And if you’re ready for a personal organization system that is less digital, this one really works! There are several thousand of Dad’s 3×5 cards archived at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to prove it.
The cover image that accompanies this post is courtesy of our friend, Ted The Fiddler. John drew this card for him in 1978 to demonstrate how to write on 3×5’s, which works while standing, sitting, walking, and riding in a car. By the way, if any of you end up writing a book on 3×5 cards while waiting in line at the airport, please let us know! 🙂
