John Cowan Hartford passed away on June 4, 2001 in Nashville, TN, after a 21-year battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
John was Master of Ceremonies for the inaugural Ryman Auditorium performance of "Down From The Mountain", based on the music of the Grammy-award winning soundtrack from "O Brother, Where Art Thou?".
