I was gifted this album by Joe Hutson many years ago, but it was lost in a move. Loved this album, like all of the others, but this one had special memories. I’d love to find it again for sale.
I saw him a week before when he played at Viterbo Fine Arts Center in La Crosse, WI. I believe it was Nov. 3rd. My brother Eddie Allen had invited him to play for the UWL Murphy Library which holds the largest collection of steamboat pictures of the history of steamboats on the Mississippi River- I remember having to use the restroom before the show and he was in there prepping for the show and actually took the time to show me how to clog (dance) like he did on the plywood during his show. My brother and he did a couple of songs together and I had a chance to meet his lovely wife Marie who gave me a tour shirt of which I still have along with one of the most memorable times of my life. He was an absolutely awesome human being as well as musician. The Julia Belle Swain is now docked in La Crosse and I see it all the time and remember that time and other times when he came to the area. He always remembered who I was as he became close with my brother Eddie. I will always remember his kindness and talent the most.
